We are seeking a motivated individual to serve Lab Administrative Assistant. This person would report directly to the Research and Development
and provide technical and administrate support for our R&D facility in Houston,
Maintain R&D information database with an eye for accuracy and thoroughness.
Log in and track samples through the lab.
Initiate PowerPoint presentations given the appropriate data.
Work with designated
travel agency
to coordinate all travel for employees. Provide details to traveling team members and serve as point on contact if changes are made during the process.
Provide assistance with the organization and shipment of sand samples.
Set up conference calls as needed and serve as point of contact for changes.
Process all outgoing packages via Fed-Ex, UPS or other postal carriers.
Assistance and/or coordination of lunch/dinner meetings, company activities, monthly coding of lab purchasing and expense reporting.
Provide assistance in the lab when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree preferred and 1-3 years of work experience or 3-5 years working as a lab administrative assistant.
Ability to function both independently and as part of a team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and the willingness to learn other system applications.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel throughout the company.
Ability to use good judgment and initiative to determine the approach or action to take in any situation.
Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet department and company absolute deadlines.
Must be accurate, detail oriented and capable of working independently.
Ability to multi-task under pressure

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
