Description
Opportunity:
As a member of Sungard Availability Services' Business Operations team, the Jr. Business Analyst (BA) will have an opportunity to rotate through the three pillars of the department: Portfolio Pricing & Deal Evaluation, Portfolio Operations & Insights, and Portfolio Financial Management. As a generalist on the team, the BA will play a key role in driving the following:
Finance and financial business Intelligence
Enterprise analytics, insights and reporting
Deal evaluations
Strategy and operations
About You:
Collaborative team player
Self-starter, self-motivated person who is detail oriented and execute tasks with minimal direction
1 - 2 years post-undergrad experience with a strategy/business operations team within industry focused on business transformation, or resource optimization (revenue enhancement & cost reduction)
1 year post-undergrad experience building comprehensive predictive models (Excel), and contributing to business case development activities
1 - 2 years post-undergrad experience preparing executive presentations and/or business cases (PowerPoint)
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Excel-based profit and loss models for product offerings
Complex deal pricing
Contribute to the development of executive and board presentations
Collaborate with team members to execute monthly and ad hoc variance analyses on the global product portfolio
Contribute to business case development efforts
Participate in meetings to understanding reporting and/or data requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree (minimum) in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
Working knowledge of financial concepts
Adept problem solver, with a strong business acumen
Demonstrated ability to think structurally about problems
Ability to matrix manage, and work closely with Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Channels and Alliances, Legal, Operations, Procurement, and Product Management organizations
Strong communicator (written, verbal) with the ability to succinctly convey key messages via executive presentations
High comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to develop assumptions based on historical company data and relevant benchmarking data
Collaborative team player
Self-starter with a proven ability to perform and excel in fast-paced team environments
Strong attention to detail
Technology industry experience not required, but is a plus
Advanced proficiency in Excel (macros, lookups, indexing, etc.) and PowerPoint
Ability to aggregate and manipulate data from disparate systems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
